| ORDER ON-LINE Return of the giving Return of the Giving is my first novel. I think it will always hold a special place in my heart for many reasons. One, I will always consider it the first one I wrote. Two, it focuses on re-building a strained marriage, which I know many people fall into that category. I make no claim that this book can help a marriage, but I believe that the principles are sound and the message is clear. You cannot put a marriage on cruise control and expect it to run itself. Also, you cannot prioritize everything else in your life and stick marriage in there somewhere. It has to be at the top, and it must be a priority. Among other things about this book, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope men read it. I know that women will probably love it, but I wrote it with the man of the household in mind. I didn’t want a man saying, “that book is for women.” It’s truly not, and I hope that I achieved that. |
| The Chair coming soon Due out in 2008, The Chair was the direct result of a prayer of mine. I was nearly finished with Return of the Giving when I started praying and asking the Lord to give me another idea; a fresh idea to motivate me to complete the first one and move onto the next. I had purchased a new chair for my home about a few weeks before I started praying, and one of the delivery guys was really strange. Very socially inept. Well, it was a few days after I started praying that I woke up ready to head out to work, when this idea fell in my lap. I felt it was God’s direct answer to my prayer and I worked out the details as I wrote. It nearly wrote itself. A lot of people ask me how much is true. I did incorporate a lot of personal details of my own life in a wheelchair, but not everything. A lot of the personal things concerning my relationship with my ex-wife, did not happen. The book paints her in a terrible light, but those details are fictional. The accident about a drunk driver, and being kicked out of school is also fictional. The things that are most true and most important are the details concerning faith and my emotions in dealing with the paralysis. There is victory and blessings in Christ no matter what your physical circumstances are. That is what’s important and that is the true message of the book. Everyone’s problems are real. No matter if it’s paralysis or a sprained wrist. We often fail to see or look for God’s faithfulness in our weakness. But it’s in the midst of it, where God often wants to reveal to us, and connect with us, and fulfill us in the most revelatory way. That’s why He said in Corinthians 12:9 “…my strength is made perfect in your weakness.” If you’re going through a tough time, emotionally, physically, whatever, I challenge you to find His strength, and come through your struggle, stronger and more faithful to Him than you thought possible. |
